Rev. Deborah Olive, Senior Minister,
ucrminister@earthlink.net
Prior to arriving in Raleigh in March of 2006, I was Senior Minister of
Unity Center of Tacoma, Washington from 1994 to 2004, and Associate Minister of
Unity Church of Overland Park in Overland Park, Kansas from 1992 to 1994. Mine is
a ministry of integrity, commitment to community-building, spiritual transformation
and a passion to "catch" God’s vision for our lives.
My dedication to spiritual transformation offers me the opportunity
to bridge the arenas of spirituality, healing and business. In 2002, I was part of
a team partnering with the county and interfaith community in Tacoma’s 9.11
one-year anniversary event. This 4-month campaign, with a strong vision and no budget,
ended up touching the lives of nearly 8000 people, 5000 of which gathered in a stadium for
"9.11: A Day of Memory, Hope and Action." I currently serve on the Advisory Board of
the Association of Global New Thought, convener of the Season for Non-Violence; The Forge
Guild; and for three years served on the Association of Unity Church's Regional Board. Prior
to attending seminary at Unity Village, Missouri, I enjoyed a 10-year career as a sales
executive with a Fortune 200 medical company.
My interests include writing (I’m a contributing author to Chocolate for a
Woman’s Heart and New Thought: Practical Steps to Living Your Greater Life),
my dogs, social artistry, cycling, and climbing–I summitted Washington’s Mt.
Rainier in 2002.
