The Healing Place of Wake County , a 501(c)(3) homeless shelter, operating facilities for both men and women. This highly successful program, where approximately 70% of the clients are sober and productive members of society one year after graduation, offers overnight emergency shelters, non-medical detoxification, and a long-term, 12-step based, peer run recovery program for persons with alcoholism and other drug addictions, specifically designed to rekindle the client’s desire to return to a meaningful and productive life.
February Project:
Teddy Bear Sundays in February!
Share your love for a child in need. Every Sunday in February, UCR gathers new stuffed animals to be shared by our Amran friends with children facing tough situations in Shriners’ Children’s Hospitals. We bring in a “furry friend” and place it in a seat, holding these toys each Sunday during the service so they’ll be “loved up” before going to their new home with a child in early March. This is a fun and meaningful UCR mission that’s become a wonderful tradition for us. Our goal? To fill every seat in our sanctuary!
