UCR welcomes the inspiring musical talent of Kenni Hairston, our new Music Director. A University of Oklahoma graduate in engineering, and with a music degree from NC A&T, Kenni's been making music since the age of 4. Currently owner of K/H Productions, a film and television music-scoring company in New York, and now, Chapel Hill, Kenni is a musician, singer and songwriter with an impressive array of musical credits and awards. He's worked with a number of notable musical talents including Freddie Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Cameo, Miles Jaye, Elliot Easton of The Cars, Nona Hendryx, and Mutiny (members of Parliament's Funkadelic) , and was the composer of the theme of the television show New York Undercover.

Besides music, Kenni's passions are racquetball, golf and music education in the schools. His favorite way to relax is to walk trails or lie in the chaise lounge on the screened porch. The niftiest person he's ever worked with is Vanessa Williams; he produced a song with her and found her one of the nicest, most professional people he's met. He enjoys travel, loves the mountains and would like to visit Mexico.

My involvement with UCR began 15 years ago, and these spiritual teachings have guided me successfully through various phases of my life. A full-time mom for the past decade, I previously held positions in bookkeeping, administration and business management with both non-profit and for-profit organizations. An active school volunteer, I happily find myself in numerous service and leadership positions each school year. At UCR, I have been involved with Youth Education for approximately 6 years. My husband Loren and I were married at UCR 13 years ago, shortly after the church moved to its current Leesville Road location. We have two children, Will (age10) and Austin (age 6) and one canine family member, Bailey.

Born in Toronto , Canada , Marcelle and her husband relocated to the Triangle Area in August, 2001. In the spring of 2007 she started attending Unity Church of Raleigh with her 6 year old twins, Eddie & Vivien. Marcelle fully embraced our youth program, volunteering to teach almost immediately. She finds that her next step is to serve our children, teachers, parents, and church as Youth Education Director. She delights in sharing her creativity, energy, and enthusiasm. Marcelle also works as a relief veterinary technician at a local emergency service, manages a family of four and volunteers in the community. She enjoys reading historical fiction, knitting, and maintaining a blog about family life.

Suzanne Casey has been a special education teacher for the past 11 years and currently works with students with emotional and behavioral disorders at Lincoln Heights Elementary in Fuquay Varina. She and her husband Bob have two young children, Larson and Skyler, and they have been actively attending the Unity Church of Raleigh for the past year-and-a-half. Suzanne is thrilled to have the opportunity to help our kids learn and practice the Unity principles through enriching lessons, activities and experiences!
